Q: What is a Management Development Forum?
A: Fifty years ago, some Ford dealers thought it would be a neat idea if they met regularly to discuss common problems they faced in operating their businesses. This concept evolved over the decades into what most dealers today refer to as "Twenty-groups". The HRAuto.Org Management Development Forum is the next evolution of this idea.
The Forum is designed specifically for human resource professionals responsible for planning and managing the work forces of large privately owned automotive retailers. As a member you will meet with the same group HR professionals three times annually. The Forum is moderated by Human Resource and Automotive professionals who understand the issues facing dealers today. Together, you will explore and find new ways to make your companies more profitable and better places to work.
Q: How much of my time will I be asked to devote to Forum activities?
A: Meetings are held on a two day format and held in central easy-in, easy-out locations. In addition you are expected to be prepared to discuss the agenda items at each meeting. The Forum is managed by several committees, (meeting, rules, and membership) you will be asked to occasionally serve as a member of one of these committees.
Q: Will I be sharing information with competitors?
A: No. Members are from non-competing markets and new members must have unanimous acceptance of the Forum. Further, members are bound by confidentiality agreements. Member companies must be privately held.
Q: What is the policy for membership cancellation?
A: If your prospective membership is approved by the group you will be invited to a meeting. At the end of this meeting the members will vote on your membership. If the vote is a unanimous approval, you will have the opportunity to accept or decline membership.
The term of the membership agreement is one year.
For existing members, membership may be cancelled at anytime with a 90 day written notice.
